The next court hearing for Moroccan journalist Omar Radi, scheduled for February 18, will be partially held remotely and behind closed doors, after the jury in charge of the case responded favorably to the request of the defense of the plaintiff, Hafsa Boutahar.
The two ex-colleagues have been defending their respective rights before the Casablanca court of appeals, after Boutahar accused Radi of “sexual assault and rape.”
Radi was sentenced to 6 years in prison for the allegations, in addition to charges of “conspiring with foreign organizations against the wellbeing of the state.”
Last week, Boutahar requested the upcoming court hearings be held behind closed doors and without her present, to avoid “the harassment she is usually subjected to after such public appearances.”
