Travelers are required to receive the third booster shot in order to leave the country, Morocco’s Health Ministry announced in a recent Facebook post published on February 3.
The Health Ministry further specified that individuals who contracted COVID-19 and recovered recently would need to wait until exceeding 4 weeks, or 28 days in order to receive the booster.
This group of people can still travel abroad with the expired vaccine pass, in addition to a medical certificate of recovery or a negative PCR result, as well as analysis results showing the recent infection.
It is also mandated to receive the third booster shot four months after receiving the two shots of anti-COVID-19 vaccines, or the single shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
In late December, the Health Ministry announced moving towards a four months interval between the second and third shot of vaccines instead of six, part of new procedures aimed to boost protection against Covid-19.
No conditions are applied to children aged under 6. While those aged between 6 to 18 are required to provide a negative PCR test carried out in less than 48 hours.
Measures for international travel come after the government announced on January 27 a decision to reopen Morocco’s borders.
Previously, the country decided to suspend all direct passenger flights since November 29, due to concerns related to the emergence of the fast-spreading Omicron variant.
