At least half of the German population has received the booster dose for vaccination against Covid-19, according to data issued by the German Robert Koch Institute for Virus Research.
The institute said on Saturday that about 41.7 million people took a third jab of the covid-19 vaccine, equivalent to 50.1% of the population.
75.4 % of the population received at least one dose of vaccination.
Those fully vaccinated against covid-19 reached 73.3% of the German population. A full vaccination usually requires two doses, except in the case of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The current rate of unvaccinated people in Germany stands at 24.6 percent, of whom 4.8 percent are people under the age of four years.
