Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) has satisfied all banking demand for liquidity during the week from January 14 to 20, 2022, amounting to MAD74.3 billion, according to Attijari Global Research (AGR).

“While satisfying all banking demand, BAM is maintaining its weekly interventions stable through its main operations”, explains AGR in its recent note “Weekly Hebdo Rates – Fixed Income.”

In this period, the 7-day advances increased from MAD3.7 billion to MAD34.1 billion, said the note, adding that a decline of the same amount was recorded in the guaranteed loans.

During this week, 5 old lines of guaranteed loans totaling MAD4.2 billion have expired, and a new line for an amount of MAD582 million was created.

Under these conditions, interbank rates remain in line with the key rate and MONIA rates stabilize around an average of 1.43%.

In addition, the year 2021 ended with a deficit of MAD64.8 billion, down by MAD18.6 billion over one year, and by MAD6.7 billion compared to November 2021, reflecting the increase in foreign exchange reserves.

The Treasury increased the investments of its cash surpluses in the reverse repo, reports AGR, adding that the latter rose to MAD5.6 billion from MAD4.6 billion last week.
