Morocco seeks a new operator for its national lottery
Monday 3 January 2022 - 21:13

Morocco’s State Lottery is looking for an operator to continue to develop its product offerings, strengthen its operational outcomes, and generally develop new offers that will encourage more people to take a chance.

The state-owned company overseeing the sports organization, La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS), will award an eight-year contract that will take effect on January 1, 2023. The winning entity will be entitled to run the MDJS’s sports betting and lottery verticals for the country.

Even with a potential extension, the contract would turn into a highly attractive offer for bidders. In order to become the national lottery’s new operator, applicants must formally apply by April 4, 2022, and submit all the required paperwork. Postal submissions will be received during the opening sessions, and the tender committee chairman will receive them directly.

To familiarize themselves with the process and submit the necessary paperwork, bidders can obtain all tender documents for $1,100 from the MDSJ headquarters. In order for a business to boost its presence in the region, a license would be an integral part of its strategy.

MDJS holds a virtual monopoly on sports betting in Morocco, except for horse and greyhound racing, so the winning entity will benefit from a robust portfolio. When a tender winner has an opportunity to advance MDJS’ lottery, it will benefit from its own results.
