The third booster shot of AstraZeneca “dramatically” increases antibodies against the Omicron variant, according to a new study released by Oxford University.
This study’s results support the use of the AstraZeneca anti-Covid-19 vaccine as a third booster shot against Omicron.
Sir Mene Pangalos, AstraZeneca’s executive vice-president, said the vaccine plays an “important role” around the world and the data give us “confidence that the vaccine should be given as a third dose booster.”
According to the researchers, the levels of neutralizing antibodies against this new variant after a third booster shot of the AstraZeneca anti-COVID-19 vaccine “were broadly similar to the levels obtained after two shots against the Delta variant.”
AstraZeneca’s third booster shot resulted in higher levels of antibodies than the neutralizing antibodies found in individuals who had previously been infected with COVID-19 and recovered naturally.
The study was based on samples from 41 people who had received three shots of the AstraZeneca anti-COVID-19 vaccine.
The study looked at samples taken from this target, including those infected with COVID-19, those who had been vaccinated with two shots and a third booster shot, and those who had reported a previous infection with the other worrying variants of COVID-19.
From Canada 57 year old male. AstraZeneca covid 19 shots help me walk without my cane. Old work injuries helped knee and joints after a few days after shots. The effect stayed but 6 months later the arthritis is starting fo come back, want a dose every six months outside of covid. I also use less pain medication and anti inflammatory drugs now. My ankles did swell up a bit in the first 24 hours but went away. I reported fo my Doctor, pharmacy and ministry of Health on their phone messages box.
