“Spider-Man: No Way Home” has become the first movie to reach USD1 billion in ticket sales worldwide, making it the first pandemic-era movie to achieve such a success at the global box office.
The movie snatched a total of USD467.3 million in North America, and USD587 million internationally, or more than USD1 billion over 12 days, according to Exhibitor Relations, a firm specializing in the film industry.
The blockbuster movie has managed to attract thousands of moviegoers, with Tom Holland as Spiderman, and the return of classic Spiderman villains from previous movies, such as Alfred Molina’s Doc Oc, and Willem Dafoe’s iconic Green Goblin.
The new James Bond movie No Time to Die also reached USD774 million in the global box office, making it the highest-grossing Hollywood film of 2021 worldwide, behind Spider-Man.
