The 28th edition of the European Film Weeks is taking place starting November 24 to December 10 in Moroccan cities, including Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, and Agadir.
As for Monday, this edition is taking place in Rabat until December 6 at the Renaissance Cinema, with two screenings a day, at 6 p.m. and at 8:30 p.m, made up of a selection of 8 European feature films and 4 short films from the south of the Mediterranean.
From December 3 to 10, the edition will be held in Agadir’s Chamber of Commerce and industry of the Souss Massa region, starting at 7 p.m.
Previously, the European Film Weeks edition was firstly held in Marrakech, starting November 24 to December 1st at the cinema Le Colisée, and then in Casablanca, from November 26 to December 3 at the Rif cinema.
This year’s edition involves a co-production system, made up of more than twenty countries around the world, including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, as well as Egypt, Lebanon, and Morocco.
This year, the programming of the European Film Weeks gives more pride to female characters, said the organizers in a press release.
An initiative of the European Union in Morocco, the European Film Weeks has been organized since 1991, in collaboration with the embassies and cultural institutes of the EU Member States, and in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and communication.
