Fatima-Zahra Khayat will represent Morocco in the 2021 Miss Universe beauty pageant, after being crowned Miss Universe Morocco in a ceremony held on Saturday.
Khayat will be Morocco’s first representative in the pageant, which will be held on December 12 in Israel, after four decades of absence from the contest.
The 26-year-old lives in Paris and works as a financial analyst, she explained in a short biography.
“Besides my interest in Fashion, I also love traveling and discovering different cultures around the world, during my trips, I always have at heart to represent my country the best way I can, to share the Moroccan culture with all the people I meet, and to promote my country,” she said on the biography.
“I want to show the world that Moroccan women are independent, educated, talented, open-minded, and strong,” she added.
“This title is a chance to prove to all women that everything is possible and that dreams come true,” she said after her victory.
The Miss Universe pageant is set to take place in Haifa with the participation of 75 countries.
