Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid announced this Thursday that his department plans to create a “Youth Pass,” which will allow young Moroccans to enjoy a multitude of benefits.
This “Youth Pass” will be made available in partnership with private operators, public institutions, and local authorities, said Bensaid during a presentation of the sectoral budget of his ministry before the Committee of Education, Culture and Communication.
The pass will allow young people in the country to access movie theatres, museums, galleries, and other cultural spaces for special rates.
The ministry of culture is “currently seeking to expand its partnerships, by diversifying cooperative collaboration accords, both with governments around the world and youth-focused organizations.”
The official also aims to improve his department’s communication strategy with youth, through the creation of an electronic platform, dedicated to providing young Moroccans with all necessary information they may need, a space to express their expectations and concerns through surveys, in addition to social networks and other smartphone apps.
A governmental initiative is also expected, which will lead to the creation of spaces dedicated to the reception of young entrepreneurs or young people in precarious situations.
The initiative aims to support young people’s economic integration through targeted training, and support to acquire funding for entrepreneurial pursuits.
Bensaid stated that his department is also working on the enactment of the law on child welfare centers, and the decree establishing the commission responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the integrated national policy for youth.
