The Bissau-Guinean team risks not joining tonight’s match against Morocco for the third day of the qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup after they were hospitalized due to food poisoning on Tuesday night,  according to a Facebook post on their page.

All the 25 players as well as the technical team had the same symptoms, including vomiting right after having their dinner at mister Baciro Candé’s disposal.

The players are currently in hospitalization and are supposed to receive more intensive care.

Guinea-Bissau’s Facebook page indicated in the same post that they have tried to reach out to the team president to let him know about the situation hours before the start of the match.

Carlos Teixeira, president of the Bissau-Guinean team, responded to the situation, saying “under these conditions, I won’t send the team to play, it would be a criminal act on my part,” according to the Portuguese News Agency.

Today’s match is set be played tonight at 8 p.m. in Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex.

This match is part of the qualifications between Vahid Halilhodzic’s national team and Guinea-Bissau who are members of Group I.

Atlas Lions have already joined the complex on Sunday and have started their training sessions after all having tested negative PCR results.
