President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced, on Tuesday, on her Twitter account, that 70% of adults in the European Union are now fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the same post, Von der Leyen also shared a video, saying that’s “more than 250 million people that have received their COVID-19 jabs,” describing it as a “great achievement.”
70% of adults in EU are fully vaccinated.
I want to thank the many people making this great achievement possible.
But we must go further!
We need more Europeans to vaccinate. And we need to help the rest of the world vaccinate, too.
We’ll continue supporting our partners. pic.twitter.com/VxdvZlrwYv

Pointing out that “the pandemic is not over, and we must remain vigilant,” the EU official called on more Europeans to seek vaccinations as soon as they could “to avoid a new wave of infections and stop the emergence of new variants.”
Recently, France announced that it will send 10 million doses of the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines to Africa via the African Union throughout the next three months, according to AFP.
