Egypt’s Zamalek club won the Egyptian Football League for the first time since 2015.
Moroccan player Achraf Bencharki played a prominent role in crowning Zamalek with the Egyptian League title, for the first time in 6 years and the 13th in the club’s history.
Bencharki scored many decisive goals for the Zamalek throughout the season, to contribute to his team’s victory in the title.
Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron said that the Moroccan player ‘is very positive and gives a good return, and in every match, he scores a goal.’
Bencharki has scored 30 goals with the Zamalek team so far, surpassing all his previous seasons at a total of 29 goals with all the clubs he previously played for.
During the current season 2020-2021, he played 30 out of 33 matches with the team, with one round remaining and one last match against Al Ahly Club.
The Moroccan player is ranked second in the competition’s top scorer table, behind Al Ahly’s Mohamed Sharif, by 5 goals.
Since joining Zamalek in the summer of 2019 from KSA’s Al Hilal, Bencharki has won 4 titles with the team, the Egyptian League, the Egypt Cup, the local and African Superin.
