Morocco’s public broadcasters 2M and SNRT recorded combined losses of MAD 487 million in 2025, according to a government report accompanying the 2027 Finance Bill.

Soread 2M posted a deficit of MAD 356 million, slightly below the MAD 360 million recorded in 2024, despite capturing 65.8% of television advertising investment.

The broadcaster’s revenue fell 10% to MAD 375 million, including MAD 357 million from advertising. Its operating loss reached MAD 303 million, reflecting what the report described as persistent structural weaknesses in its financial model.

SNRT recorded a MAD 131 million deficit, down from MAD 410 million in 2024. Its revenue rose 53% to MAD 672 million, partly because of exceptional collections of outstanding broadcasting levy payments.

The state provided SNRT with MAD 1.5 billion in financial support.

In April 2026, SNRT became Soread 2M’s majority shareholder as part of Morocco’s public broadcasting restructuring.
