Moroccan international Yassir Zabiri continued his impressive start to the Spanish football season, scoring the winning goal for Racing Santander in a 2-1 victory over Espanyol on Saturday.
The Moroccan striker struck six minutes before full time, taking his tally to eight goals in the opening 10 rounds of La Liga, according to AFP.
Zabiri’s performances have strengthened his reputation as one of the league’s emerging attacking talents, bringing his long-held ambition of playing for Barcelona closer to reality.
The latest milestone follows a remarkable year for the young forward, who helped Morocco win the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
Zabiri scored five goals during the tournament, including both goals in Morocco’s 2-0 victory over Argentina in the final, securing a historic title for the Atlas Cubs.
Born in Marrakech, Zabiri developed his footballing skills before joining the Mohammed VI Football Academy, where he received much of his early training.
