Moroccan international Yassir Zabiri, who is signed to Racing Santander, maintained his outstanding performances in LaLiga, scoring his seventh goal of the season, during the 8th LaLiga EA Sports gameweek, to join Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal at the goalscorers ranking.
As the scorer of the equalizing goal against Valencia CF (2-2), the young Moroccan international has cemented his status as one of the top breakout stars of the early season. He now ranks among the closest challengers to Brazilian Raphinha, who leads the scoring race with 12 goals, alongside Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal, and Sergio Camello, who each have seven goals.
Taking advantage of a matchday in which several of the Spanish league’s top forwards failed to score, as well as Raphinha’s absence due to injury, the Moroccan player once again demonstrated his offensive prowess.
Before his goal against the Valencian club, Zabiri had already made a name for himself since the start of the season by scoring a spectacular hat trick against Elche, a decisive two-goal performance against Deportivo Alavés, which earned him “Man of the Match” honors, and a goal against FC Barcelona.
Gameweek 8 was also marked by the contribution of another Atlas Lion, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, to Real Betis’s resounding victory over Osasuna (5-2). The Moroccan forward scored his team’s second goal in the 31st minute, bringing his total to two goals in La Liga this season
