Severe storms and heavy rain hit parts of Spain on Sunday, with Catalonia among the hardest-hit regions, Spanish public broadcaster RTVE reported.
Images from L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, near Barcelona, showed flooded streets and people wading through knee-deep water.
La Vanguardia reported that regional firefighters received more than 1,000 emergency calls overnight.
Most incidents involved flooded basements and buildings, as well as fallen trees. Fire crews also rescued motorists trapped inside vehicles after roads became inundated.
Authorities continued responding to weather-related incidents across the region as heavy rainfall disrupted transport and daily activity.
