PAM supporters celebrated at the party’s Rabat headquarters after Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit announced the party had finished first with 97 seats, putting it ahead of the RNI (66), Istiqlal (65), and the PJD (54). The figures remain provisional.
At PJD headquarters, early optimism fueled by favorable returns from individual constituencies gave way to surprise once the full national tally confirmed the RNI still ahead of the party. Abdelilah Benkirane did not speak after the announcement and is expected to respond later Thursday.
Mohamed Chouki of the RNI said only that the party was satisfied with its early numbers, hours before the official results were released. Since then, senior figures have left headquarters, and the party’s communications team told reporters no further statement was planned overnight.

Popular Movement MP Abdelnabi Eidoudi kept his seat in Sidi Kacem, while Ouzzine kept his seat in Ifrane.Â

At one polling station in Temara, the PJD received 139 votes, according to Hamidine, compared with 19 for the second-placed party.
