Thunderstorms & Hot Weather Expected through Weekend in Several Moroccan Provinces

Thunderstorms, hot weather, and strong wind gusts are expected from Saturday through Sunday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced.

Thunderstorms with hail and gusty winds (30-40 mm) are expected on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the provinces of Tinghir, Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Midelt, Boulemane, Ouarzazate, Zagora, and Taourirt, the DGM specified in an orange-level weather alert.

In addition, hot weather with temperatures ranging from 38° to 40°C is expected on Saturday and Sunday in the provinces of Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, and Khemisset.

Strong wind gusts (75 to 85 km/h) are also forecast on Saturday and Sunday in the provinces of Tangier-Assilah and Fahs-Anjra.
