Morocco’s Royal Navy intercepted a boat carrying 201 migrants toward Spain’s Canary Islands about 185 kilometers southwest of Dakhla on Saturday, the military said.
The passengers, including women and minors, were taken safely to the fishing village of Roc-Chico, about 190 kilometers southwest of Dakhla.
Navy personnel provided medical assistance aboard the vessel before handing the migrants to the Royal Gendarmerie for the required administrative procedures, according to the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
