Morocco’s governing National Rally of Independents will campaign for another term by defending its record while acknowledging unresolved problems in health, education, employment and public services, party leader Mohamed Chouki said.
Chouki said government policies introduced during the current term had placed Morocco on the right path but required faster implementation and correction of continuing shortcomings.
He identified unequal access to services and economic opportunities as a central challenge, particularly in rural areas lacking adequate roads, water, electricity and other infrastructure.
The party’s goal, he said, was to create “a Morocco moving at one speed,” where geography does not determine access to education, healthcare or employment.
Chouki said the RNI would not avoid scrutiny of decisions taken while leading the governing coalition. He argued that assessments should consider repeated droughts, rising prices, disrupted supply chains and international instability.
He also accused unnamed political actors of distancing themselves from decisions they had previously supported, saying election campaigning appeared to have “erased some people’s memories.”
Chouki, elected RNI president in February, called on rival parties to publish their programs and compete through policy proposals rather than personal attacks.
The RNI has already announced its candidates and program ahead of the September 23 parliamentary election.
