On the instructions of King Mohammed VI, Princess Lalla Meryem received, on Sunday at the Royal Guest Palace in Rabat, the Al-Quds children participating in the 17th edition of the summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency.

Placed under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, this initiative by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency reflects His Majesty the King’s constant and unwavering support, may God preserve Him, for the Holy City and its inhabitants.

This initiative reinforces the actions undertaken by the Agency to support the Holy City of Al-Quds and its inhabitants through numerous projects whose tangible impact is directly felt by Al-Quds inhabitants, particularly women, children, and people facing difficult circumstances.

Entitled “Manarat Assalam” (Lighthouse of Peace), this edition, held from August 12 to 26, benefits, as did previous editions, 50 Al-Quds children (girls and boys) aged 11 to 14, accompanied by five supervisors who also came from the Holy City.

The program featured the organization of the second session of the Summer School in Skhirat, followed by the official program of this edition, which included educational trips, artistic competitions, and sporting events, as well as cultural visits alongside Moroccan children.

On this occasion, Princess Lalla Meryem was greeted by Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, Managing Director of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, as well as by the supervisors and the Al-Quds children participating in this 17th edition of the summer camps.

Her Royal Highness subsequently posed for a commemorative photograph before presiding over a reception hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify Him, in honor of the children.

The Al-Quds children then presented commemorative gifts to Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem.

For his part, Echarkaoui presented Her Royal Highness with a commemorative book documenting the 17 previous editions, produced by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency. These editions have been organized since 2008 and have benefited a total of 850 children from different neighborhoods of the Holy City, accompanied by 85 supervisors. Through these visits, they have been able to discover different regions of the Kingdom and witness the strength of Moroccans’ active solidarity with the Palestinian people.
