Palestinian children from Al-Quds taking part in the annual summer camp organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency visited the National Zoological Garden in Rabat on Saturday.

The visit was part of the program of the 17th edition of the summer camp, held from August 12 to 26 under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the National Zoological Garden said in a statement.

The camp aims to foster cultural exchange and strengthen interaction between the children from Al-Quds and their Moroccan peers through a range of educational and cultural activities.

During their visit to the zoo, the children explored its various areas, observed several iconic animal species and took part in age-appropriate recreational activities.

The outing offered them an enriching experience centered on biodiversity, environmental protection and the natural heritage of Morocco and Africa, the statement said.

The National Zoological Garden of Rabat is committed to biodiversity conservation, environmental education and the promotion of Morocco’s and the world’s wildlife heritage.

The zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals representing around 170 species and offers educational, scientific and recreational experiences for visitors of all ages, the source states.

Launched in 2008 under the High Patronage of HM the King, the annual summer camp for children from Al-Quds is one of the BMAQ Agency’s social and educational programs. It seeks to develop the capacities of children and adolescents while promoting cultural exchange.

The 17th edition brings together 50 children aged between 11 and 14 and includes visits to Moroccan cities and historical sites, alongside artistic, sporting and educational activities.
