Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will chair a video meeting on Monday to coordinate his government’s response to the continuing security and humanitarian pressures in Ceuta.

Spain’s official agenda lists ministers responsible for the economy, foreign affairs, defense, interior, territorial policy, migration and youth among the participants.

The meeting is the second high-level session chaired by Sánchez since tens of thousands of people crossed from Morocco into Ceuta on July 30 and 31.

Officials are expected to examine accommodation, humanitarian assistance, identification procedures, asylum applications and returns, alongside measures intended to prevent another mass crossing.

Migration Minister Elma Saiz will also visit Ceuta to supervise the humanitarian response and meet the city’s president, Juan Vivas.

Ceuta’s government has demanded faster returns to Morocco. Spanish legal groups say asylum requests cannot be rejected collectively and must receive individual examination under national and European law.
