Morocco lifted visa requirements for Albanian citizens travelling to the kingdom for short stays on Saturday, Aug. 15, Albania’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs said in a statement published the previous day.
The ministry said Morocco’s embassy in Rome, which is accredited to Albania, had formally notified Tirana that the exemption would take effect from Aug. 15.
The move implements a commitment announced by Morocco and Albania in a joint declaration signed on March 1, 2025, during talks between the two countries’ foreign ministers.
At the time, Morocco said it had decided to waive visa requirements for Albanian nationals making short visits, while the necessary procedures still had to be completed.
The new measure removes that requirement for eligible short-term travel, easing movement between the two countries. The Albanian announcement did not specify the maximum permitted length of visa-free stays.
