The number of visitors received at Morocco’s border crossings approached 9.4 million people by the end of June 2026, an increase of 6% year-on-year, according to the Directorate of Financial Studies and Forecasts (DEPF).

The brief indicates that the tourism sector began this year with a value-added performance of +8.1% in Q1-2026, following a consolidation of 8.7% a year earlier. The main indicators of the tourism sector point to a continuation of the favorable trend in the sector’s activity over the coming months.
Regarding overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments, they increased by 9% by the end of last May, following a 12.4% rise a year earlier.
