Moroccan authorities open investigation into alleged leaks in medical school entrance exam

Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation announced that the competent judicial authorities have opened an investigation into allegations that some candidates were provided with answers during this year’s medical school entrance examination.

In a statement received by Hespress, the ministry said the move comes in response to the circulation of an audio-visual recording on social media and messaging applications containing claims that certain candidates obtained answers to questions in the unified entrance exam for faculties of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry for the 2026-2027 academic year while the test was underway.

The ministry said the relevant judicial authorities had launched an investigation into the allegations and would take the necessary legal measures based on its findings.

It stressed that it “will not hesitate to take all measures required by law” to preserve the integrity and credibility of higher education entrance examinations and safeguard the principles of merit and equal opportunity.

The ministry added that Morocco’s faculties of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry “have a longstanding academic and scientific reputation” and continue to train Moroccan and international health professionals whose qualifications are recognized both nationally and internationally.

The controversy erupted after social media users questioned the integrity of the entrance exam, particularly following the circulation of advertisements published a day before the test by unidentified parties claiming they could provide candidates with the correct answers in exchange for money.

Calls have also emerged online for a national petition demanding an independent investigation into the allegations surrounding the examination process.

Authorities have yet to release the results of the judicial investigation or clarify whether any irregularities were identified during the exam.
