OCP Group hosted Japanese Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Norikazu Suzuki and an official delegation at its Jorf Lasfar industrial complex on Saturday, the Moroccan fertilizer producer said.
The visit focused on cooperation supporting Japan’s agricultural development, food security and fertilizer supply chains, as well as wider demand across Southeast Asia.
OCP said its relationship with Japanese partners dates to 1961 and has developed through more than six decades of commercial and agricultural cooperation.
The group described Morocco as a strategic supplier capable of helping Japan and ASEAN countries strengthen the resilience of agricultural input chains amid growing concern over global supply disruptions.
Talks also covered sustainable farming, responsible nutrient management and the use of innovation to improve agricultural productivity while limiting environmental impacts.
OCP said it intended to expand the partnership and continue supporting farmers in Japan and the wider region through reliable fertilizer supplies and agricultural solutions adapted to local needs.
