Morocco’s nine largest fuel distributors recorded lower commercial margins in the fourth quarter of 2025 as international refined-product prices and domestic pump prices declined, the Competition Council said.
Gasoil CIF quotations fell by 0.09 dirham per liter, while pump prices dropped by 0.03 dirham. Petrol quotations declined by 0.28 dirham per liter, compared with a 0.20-dirham reduction at service stations.
Gasoil purchase costs rose by 0.22 dirham per liter, but distributors cut tax-free transfer prices to partner stations by 0.29 dirham, absorbing a 0.51-dirham gap. Petrol purchase costs fell by 0.10 dirham, while transfer prices dropped by 0.48 dirham.
Average gross margins fell to 1.23 dirhams per liter for gasoil and 1.85 dirhams for petrol, down from 1.48 and 2.10 dirhams respectively in the previous quarter.
