The Amazigh rock band Meteor Airlines has been invited to represent Morocco at the 32nd edition of the Pol’and’Rock Festival, scheduled to take place from July 30 to August 1, 2026, at the Czaplinek-Broczyno airfield in Poland. The group will perform on the 31st of July on the festival’s second main stage, known as the Tent Stage.

According to the organisers, this marks the first time since the festival’s launch in 1995 that a Moroccan or North African band has been programmed. Pol’and’Rock is one of Europe’s largest free open-air music festivals and regularly attracts several hundred thousand attendees.

Meteor Airlines was formed in 2016 in Tinghir, southeastern Morocco. The band performs songs in Tamazight and blends Amazigh musical traditions with rock instrumentation. Its members are also known for wearing the azennar, a traditional Moroccan cape, during live performances.

The invitation follows several years of growing international exposure for the band. Meteor Airlines received the National Prize for Amazigh Culture from IRCAM in 2023 for best Amazigh music album and has performed in venues across Morocco and Europe, including Paris.

Festival representatives said the choice reflects Pol’and’Rock’s long-standing focus on musical diversity and international discovery. The 2026 edition will continue under the festival’s long-running motto of “Love, Friendship, Music.”
