A Moroccan football supporter is in critical condition after falling from the stands at a CAF Champions League final match between Mamelodi Sundowns and AS FAR in South Africa, according to informed Hesport sources.

The fan, known among AS FAR supporters for regularly accompanying the team both domestically and abroad, sustained severe injuries after the fall and is currently receiving intensive medical care at a hospital in South Africa.

Medical reports indicate that he suffered multiple fractures to the rib cage, shoulder, arm and hand, in addition to various injuries across his body. Sources said his condition is critical and that he requires urgent surgical intervention.

Fellow supporters have called on Moroccan diplomatic authorities, including the embassy and consulate in South Africa, to urgently intervene to assist the injured fan and ensure he receives the necessary care, describing the situation as a humanitarian and moral responsibility.

Fans who traveled with the team said the incident has left supporters in shock, particularly amid reports of difficult conditions during the match. They also urged AS FAR’s management to take action and coordinate with relevant authorities to support the injured supporter and facilitate his safe return to Morocco.

The incident has sparked a wave of solidarity on social media, with many fans expressing hope for a positive response from concerned parties and a recovery for the injured supporter.

The first leg of the final ended in a 1-0 victory for Mamelodi Sundowns, with the return leg scheduled for next Saturday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
