Morocco has joined the Artemis Accords, with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman welcoming the Kingdom as a new partner in a U.S.-led framework for space exploration.
In a statement and video shared on X, Isaacman said it was his “privilege to welcome the Kingdom of Morocco as the newest signatory,” adding that the accords bring together countries committed to “peaceful, transparent and responsible” exploration of space.
Morocco became the 64th country to sign the accords on April 29 in Rabat, joining an international initiative launched in 2020 to set rules for civil space cooperation, including data sharing and coordination of lunar activities.
Isaacman said the framework has evolved beyond coordination into a platform supporting long-term ambitions, including sustained human presence on the Moon.
He linked the initiative to U.S. plans to expand lunar operations under the Artemis program, describing it as a collective effort where partner countries can make “meaningful contributions.”
