Members of Raja Club Athletic condemned what they described as organizational shortcomings and officiating controversies following their team’s match against AS FAR at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Thursday, an encounter that was marred by unrest and crowd disturbances.
In a statement, the supporters expressed “absolute and unconditional solidarity” with Raja fans, particularly those detained following the incidents, calling for their release and for what they described as fair treatment under principles of justice.
The group also criticized refereeing decisions during the match, alleging inconsistencies in the application of the rules and claiming the game was affected by what they called unequal treatment that undermined competitive fairness.
They further raised concerns over the use of video assistant referee (VAR) technology, saying key decisions lacked clarity and precision, and argued that its use in Morocco’s domestic league should be subject to greater scrutiny.
The supporters called on the National Professional Football League (LNFP) to open an urgent investigation into what they described as irregularities during the match and to release audio recordings from the VAR room, citing the need for transparency and accountability.
They also praised security forces for their efforts during the match, saying their intervention helped prevent the situation from escalating further inside the stadium.
Reaffirming their position, the group said they would continue to defend the club’s interests and its supporters through legal and institutional channels while respecting public institutions and sporting ethics.
