Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer in late 2024 and has since fully recovered following treatment, according to an official medical report released Friday by his office.
The report said a routine examination for prostate enlargement revealed a tumor measuring less than one centimeter. Netanyahu underwent targeted treatment, and follow-up tests, including MRI scans and blood markers, showed no remaining signs of cancer.
Doctors said the tumor was localized and detected at an early stage, allowing for effective treatment without the need for chemotherapy. His prostate-specific antigen levels returned to normal, indicating a positive response.
Israeli media reported the condition had not been publicly disclosed over the past 18 months.
The disclosure follows recent speculation about Netanyahu’s health amid reports of frequent hospital visits. Netanyahu said he delayed publication of the report due to wartime conditions and confirmed he is now in “excellent health.”
