The Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, and the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the South Zone, Mohammed Berrid, were received by Pete Hegseth, United States Secretary of War, on the occasion of the 14th meeting of the Morocco-U.S. Defense Consultative Committee, held in Washington on April 14-16, 2026.
The meeting, attended by Morocco’s ambassador to Washington, Youssef Amrani, and U.S. ambassador to Rabat, Duke Buchan III, was marked by in-depth discussion on the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries, mainly in the fields of defense, the arms industry, and cybersecurity.
On this occasion, both parties strongly commended the historic and exemplary relations that underpin the robust, historic alliance between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America. This alliance is continually driven and sustained by the foundational commitments of the highest authorities of both countries, under the leadership of their distinguished Heads of State.
This visit also provided an opportunity for the Moroccan side to welcome the American position supporting the Kingdom’s full and complete sovereignty over its Sahara, as well as to highlight Morocco’s sustained efforts, as a committed actor for regional peace and security, to promote stability and prosperity at both the regional and international levels.
