Royal Gendarmerie officers in Bouskoura arrested ten people on Sunday suspected of running an organized livestock theft ring, known locally as “Fraqshya.”
The arrests came after several farmers filed complaints reporting stolen sheep and cattle, taken by unknown individuals using a transport vehicle. Investigators traced the suspects to a facility in the “Chichan” area near Casablanca, where they carried out a raid and recovered around 45 heads of sheep and cattle, along with bladed weapons.
Some victims were brought in to identify their animals before getting them back. All ten suspects are in custody and will be presented to the prosecutor. The operation comes at a critical time for livestock owners, with Eid al-Adha approaching.
