HolidayCheck, one of the largest travel portals in the German-speaking world, has recommended the Moroccan cities of Essaouira and Agadir as highly popular tourist destinations for a getaway this April.

“Just a four-hour flight from Germany, Morocco reveals a completely different landscape,” with Atlas mountain peaks still snow-capped in April and oases and a desert in the south, where spring is already well established, HolidayCheck writes on its website.

The specialized German portal notes that in Agadir, the Kingdom’s seaside capital, tourists, especially families, can enjoy comfortable hotels with vast swimming pools that border a nine-kilometer beach of fine sand.

It also recommends that travelers seeking a certain oriental charm plan a stay in Essaouira or Marrakech during their spring vacations.

A fishing town, Essaouira and its ramparts are ready to welcome tourists to stroll through its blue and white alleyways lined with souks, sip mint tea on a rooftop terrace overlooking the sea, and enjoy grilled fish in front of the city’s historic port.

HolidayCheck also highlights in this context that the beach of the “City of Trade Winds” is particularly popular with surfers.

Agadir and Essaouira are part of a list of ten tourist destinations worldwide recommended by HolidayCheck for an April 2026 getaway. The list also includes Lake Garda in Trentino, Italy, the Algarve in Portugal, the island of Corfu in Greece, St. Pete/Clearwater in Florida, USA, Koh Samui in Thailand; Kyoto in Japan, Cyprus, the Red Sea in Egypt and Mallorca in Spain.
