Morocco’s national team drew 1-1 with Ecuador on Friday in an international friendly at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium.

The match began at a high tempo, with both teams exchanging attacks in search of an early breakthrough. Despite several chances, a lack of precision in the final third kept the score level, as the first half ended goalless.

Ecuador took the lead shortly after the restart, with John Yeboah scoring in the 48th minute.

Morocco had an opportunity to equalize in the 59th minute after being awarded a penalty when Neil El Aynaoui was brought down in the box. However, El Aynaoui saw his effort saved by the Ecuador goalkeeper. The rebound was converted by Rabii Hrimat, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Morocco eventually found the equalizer in the 88th minute, when El Aynaoui headed home a late goal to secure the draw for the “Atlas Lions.”

Morocco will next face Paraguay on Tuesday at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m.
