Moroccan police arrested a 41 year old Senegalese national near Agadir on Friday after Interpol records showed he was wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by Senegal in a case involving alleged intentional homicide and receiving stolen goods.

The suspect was detained in the rural area of Ait Amira in Chtouka Ait Baha during an operation carried out by Agadir’s judicial police based on intelligence provided by Morocco’s domestic intelligence service.

A background check through Interpol’s database confirmed that the man was the subject of a red notice circulated at the request of Senegalese judicial authorities.

The suspect has been placed under extradition procedures, while Interpol Rabat notified its Senegalese counterpart of the arrest.
