A climbing expedition on Mount Toubkal turned tragic this Sunday morning when three people lost their lives after falling from a steep slope in the Al Haouz province.

Local sources reported that the victims included two Moroccan tourists from Casablanca and a local mountain guide who was leading the ascent. The group was reportedly caught off guard by a sudden snow avalanche, which caused them to lose their footing and fall from a considerable height. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Royal Gendarmerie responded immediately to the incident, recovering the bodies and launching an investigation to determine the exact circumstances behind the fatal accident.
