The Association Agreement between Morocco and the United Kingdom, in force since 2021, provides the basis for political, economic and social cooperation between the two countries and facilitates bilateral trade, the UK’s Trade Minister Chris Bryant said.
Addressing the House of Commons, Mr. Bryant referred to the third meeting of the Association Council, held in London last November. He said the meeting reaffirmed the commitment of London and Rabat to deepen trade ties, investment and cooperation in the areas of education, renewable energy and security.
These commitments are fully in line with the significant shift in relations between the two countries following the session of the bilateral strategic dialogue, held in Rabat in June 2025, Mr. Bryant noted.
He added that since the Association Agreement came into force, bilateral trade rose by 18.8% over the twelve-month period ending in late June 2025.
The minister said talks were continuing on a new agricultural agreement that will be beneficial to both the United Kingdom and Morocco.
