Saturday 3 January 2026 - 10:01

Temperatures are expected to drop sharply, with notably cold conditions across the Atlas Mountains, the eastern region, and the southeast. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast over the Souss, Abda, and Chiadma areas, while rain showers will affect much of the northern half of the country and the northwest of the southern provinces.

Strong to locally severe wind gusts are expected along the Atlantic coast, the northern and central plains, the Atlas ranges, the eastern region, the southeast, and southern Morocco, raising the risk of localized disruptions.

Snowfall is forecast on the Atlas Mountains, the Rif, and the eastern high plateaus at elevations above 1,800 meters.

Minimum temperatures could fall to between minus 5 and zero degrees Celsius in the Atlas, while daytime temperatures nationwide are expected to decline.

At sea, conditions will range from calm to rough in the Mediterranean, with very rough seas expected between Larache and Tan-Tan.
