Morocco is expected to experience continued unsettled weather in the coming days, marked by cold to very cold conditions, scattered rainfall and snowfall over higher elevations, particularly in the Atlas and Rif mountain ranges, the General Directorate of Meteorology said.
Hussein Youabed, head of communication at the weather authority, said Tuesday will bring cold to very cold temperatures, with a risk of frost forming over the Atlas Mountains, the Rif and the high plateaus.
Cloudy conditions are forecast at times over the northern half of the country, with rain or showers expected on the Atlantic plains north of El Jadida. Light rain may fall overnight over the Atlas, Rif, Saiss and the phosphate plateaus, with limited snowfall on Atlas peaks and relatively strong winds along the northern Atlantic coast.
Minimum temperatures are expected to range between minus 6 and minus 1 degrees Celsius in the Atlas, between minus 1 and 4 degrees in the Rif, eastern and southeastern regions, and between 8 and 13 degrees in southern and coastal areas.
Cold conditions are forecast to persist through Wednesday and Thursday, with renewed rain chances and frost risks, before further unsettled weather returns from Friday into early next week, the authority said.
