Morocco’s banking sector is expected to maintain solid growth through 2030, supported by strong liquidity, controlled risks and improving economic conditions, according to a financial analysis published by brokerage firm M.S.IN.
The report said deposit growth continues to outpace lending, providing banks with comfortable liquidity and stronger capacity to finance investment projects. Despite global uncertainty linked to geopolitical tensions and trade policies, the Moroccan economy and banking system have shown resilience, the analysis said.
M.S.IN expects Morocco’s gross domestic product to grow by about 5 percent in 2025, up from 3.8 percent in 2024, driven by a recovery in agriculture and sustained momentum in non agricultural activities, including infrastructure and energy projects.
The report said Bank Al Maghrib’s decision to cut the key interest rate to 2.25 percent in March 2025, alongside inflation contained near 1 percent, supported credit and investment conditions.
Listed Moroccan banks posted solid results in the first half of 2025, with net banking income rising 7.4 percent to 49.1 billion dirhams and net profits increasing 18.2 percent to 12.5 billion dirhams, supported by lower risk costs.
M.S.IN said the sector’s outlook remains positive through 2030, backed by public investment, digitalization and expansion across African markets.
