An Italian tourist died instantly after falling from a steep cliff during a hiking trip in the Al Haouz region near Mount Toubkal.
The man was reportedly exploring the area with friends when he slipped from a rugged slope considered particularly difficult to navigate, according to local sources. Rescue was impossible due to the height and severity of the drop.
Royal Gendarmerie units rushed to the scene, guided by local mountain tour guides, and the victim’s body was recovered and transported to the mortuary.
Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
