Morocco’s Council of Government, chaired by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, is set to review Thursday a key decree updating the implementation rules of the value added tax, part of ongoing fiscal adjustments under Chapter III of the General Tax Code.

The measure forms part of a broader effort to streamline the tax system and align regulatory provisions with recent reforms.

The meeting will also examine a draft law regulating the profession of Adoul, the traditional judicial notaries who play a central role in family and civil status procedures.

Another item on the agenda is a decree governing marine aquaculture farms, as the country expands its blue economy and seeks tighter regulation of coastal production sites.

Ministers will additionally review a military cooperation agreement signed in June 2025 between Morocco and Ethiopia.
