Morocco’s football federation and Olympique de Marseille are monitoring defender Nayef Aguerd’s condition as his pubalgia persists weeks before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The player joined the national team’s training camp despite being ruled out of friendlies against Mozambique and Uganda, according to RMC Sport.
Aguerd, who left Marseille’s match against Brest with pain on Saturday, underwent medical tests with Morocco’s staff and is expected to rest for about two weeks to recover fully.
The 28-year-old will receive treatment while remaining with the squad to preserve group cohesion before the tournament begins in Morocco on December 21.
