American rapper Kanye West (Ye) has publicly apologized to Moroccan-Israeli Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto in New York. The apology, which the artist said was motivated by repentance and responsibility, follows years of controversial and often antisemitic statements that severely damaged his global image.
An unexpected scene circulated widely on social media yesterday, Thursday, showing a somber Ye sitting alongside Rabbi Pinto, an influential spiritual figure and recognized Kabbalist who heads the Rabbinic Tribunal of Morocco.
Speaking through a translator, the rapper stated he felt “blessed to be here today, to be able to take [his] responsibilities” and “make amends” for his past words.

Rabbi Pinto, known for promoting religious and cultural dialogue, responded gently, reminding Ye that “Judaism is founded on repentance” and encouraging him to transform the gesture into a deeper spiritual commitment.
