Marsa Maroc and France’s CMA Terminals have signed a new partnership agreement extending the 2024 framework between Tanger Med Group and CMA CGM. The deal formalizes CMA Terminals’ entry into the capital of the concession company operating Nador West Med’s west terminal, a future key maritime hub on the Mediterranean.
Under the agreement, Marsa Maroc will hold 51% of the shares and voting rights, while CMA Terminals will own 49%, maintaining Moroccan control while bringing in French expertise.
Set to begin operations in 2027, the terminal will feature 900 meters of quay, an 18-meter draft, and a 37.5-hectare storage area, with eight STS cranes and an annual capacity of 1.8 million TEUs.
Located near the Strait of Gibraltar, Nador West Med is expected to strengthen Morocco’s position as a leading transshipment hub, connecting euro-Mediterranean and African trade routes.
