Morocco will launch its new support system for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the coming days, starting from Errachidia, in what officials call a symbolic step toward promoting territorial equity, said Investment Minister Delegate Karim Zidan on Tuesday.
Speaking before the House of Councillors, Zidan said the program aims to strengthen investment in less-attractive regions, turning them into “success stories” and ensuring that economic opportunities reach all parts of the country. “Launching from Errachidia reflects our commitment to fairness between regions,” he noted.
The minister emphasized that supporting investors and simplifying procedures are central to the government’s reforms under the new Investment Charter, which provides a modern legal framework to accelerate private investment. He added that the government has already cut administrative red tape and continues to streamline processes to make Morocco more attractive to both domestic and foreign investors.
Zidan highlighted that major national infrastructure projects, from industrial zones to renewable energy and transport hubs, are helping position Morocco as a competitive destination. “Clean energy is a key advantage,” he said, citing growing global demand for stable and sustainable power sources.
He stressed that investment promotion is a shared responsibility among government officials, local authorities, and public employees, who must “see themselves as partners in investment, not bureaucratic obstacles.”
The upcoming MSME support system, Zidan said, is part of the government’s broader push to empower local economies, create jobs, and attract capital to underserved areas, aligning with King Mohammed VI’s vision for balanced regional development and a unified national growth model.
